You Are Welcome Here

We know that visiting a new church can be scary. Entering a community where you may not know anyone or much about them is a vulnerable and courageous thing to do! We want to make sure that your first visit (and every visit after that) is full of welcome and care for you.

Please feel free to contact our pastors with any questions you may have prior to your visit. Below are some answers to some common questions that may help you as you plan your first visit to Ebenezer:

  • What is The United Methodist Church and what are Ebenezer's core beliefs?
Ebenezer is a part of The United Methodist Church and shares in its rich theological heritage, witness and mission around the world. Ebenezer claims the beliefs of the UMC. (You can read about the UMC's beliefs here) At its core, the UMC has a commitment to social holiness with a strong focus on putting faith into action, striving to live out its vision "to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world." At Ebenezer we do our part to make disciples and transform lives by casting a vision for the ministry we do together centered on loving people like Jesus does. We are a part of the Baltimore-Washington Annual Conference and the Baltimore-Suburban District in the Baltimore Region.
  • What is your worship service like?
Ebenezer's 10:45am worship has traditional elements that you will find at most United Methodist churches with prayers, hymns, scripture and a sermon every Sunday. We also utilize creative and contemporary elements, depending on what we are focusing on in worship. There are no assigned seats in the sanctuary, so please feel free to sit wherever you like. The worship environment at Ebenezer is laid back and light-hearted, full of warm and friendly people. Every Sunday, there is a time for people to voluntarily share their joys and concerns in the worship service, which helps keep us prayerfully connected with one another.
  • When do you serve Holy Communion?
Holy Communion is served every first Sunday of the month in the worship service. You do not need to be a member of the church to receive communion. All are welcome to receive Holy Communion at Ebenezer.
  • What should I wear?
People come to Ebenezer wearing anything from dresses and suits to jeans and t-shirts and flip-flops. There is no dress code. You are welcome as you are!
  • Where are you located?
Ebenezer is located in Fallston, at 3345 Charles St., just off of Mountain Road. The Sunday worship service is located in the sanctuary, which can be accessed from the main entrance under the bell tower or the handicapped ramp between the church and fellowship hall buildings.
  • Where do I park?
There is plenty of free parking available in the front of the building.
  • Is your building wheelchair accessible?
The main floor of our building is entirely wheelchair accessible from the side entrance, which faces the parking lot.
  • Do you have childcare during the worship service?
All children are invited to participate fully in the worship service. We welcome children as they are and do not expect them to be quiet or still in the worship service. Please know that it does not bother us if your child squirms, roams or cries in worship. You are welcome to sit wherever you'd like. We have a "Young at Heart" moment during worship where our preacher offers a message appropriate to all ages. We also have a nursery room where parents or guardians can take kids if they'd like to give them a break from worship.
